After a really sluggish preseason, Gabe Jacas has been very strong tonight — shooting through the gap and recording a 3-yard TFL.

Nice play by the rookie. For all the concerns over New Egland’s pass rush — Jacas, Ponder, and Jones have been active.

A great tackle by Robert Spillane on Shaheed forces yet another Seattle punt.

The Patriots make the Seahawks pay for that roughing the punter penalty. New England’s offense isn’t exactly humming, but they’re able to put Andy Borregales in position for a 50-yard field goal attempt — which he hits.

It’s 10-0 Patriots with 11:49 to go in the third quarter.

Man, the Seahawks are committing some brutal penalties tonight.

The Seahawks’ rush makes contact with punter Mitch Wishnowsky and the Patriots offense gets a fresh set of downs.

Hunter Henry is now back on the field for the Patriots — a welcome sight for New England.

That’s not good for the Patriots.

A.J. Brown appear to hurt his ankle after Nehemiah Pritchett landed on it while running a slant. He’s gingerly making his way off the field.

According to the NBC broadcast, Brown is questionable to return with an ankle injury.

Man, Hunter Henry just got smoked by Julian Love while making a 13-yard catch. He’s heading to the blue medical tent — might be a concussion spotter.

Halftime: The Patriots lead the Seahawks, 7-0.

A sluggish start for both teams, but New England’s offense is landing some punches against Seattle when they’re putting the ball in Maye’s hands.

Maye is 10-of-12 for 66 yards and a touchdown — while rushing for 36 yards.

But Rhamondre Stevenson is struggling in the ground game, averaging just two yards per carry so far in the first half.

A major loss for Seattle — as Seahawks QB Sam Darnold has been ruled out with his hip injury.

It’s Drew Lock for the rest of the night. Maye and the Patriots have their work cut out for them against this Seattle defense — but New England has a prime opportunity to capitalize here against a stunted Seahawks roster.

New England’s offense seems to be settling in.

The Patriots finally solve a Witherspoon blitz after Maye hits A.J. Brown for a 15-yard pickup on third down, while Maye later scrambles for 16 yards to get the ball to midfield.

Maye’s next play is nearly picked off by Witherspoon, but he’s out of bounds off the catch, so Maye avoids the major miscue.

That drive does dry up after a Stevenson run is stood up, so the Patriots punt things away with less than a minute to go in the first half.

Just a few minutes after Eli Raridon scores his first NFL touchdown, another Patriots rookie, Gabe Jacas, sacks Drew Lock for a 7-yard loss. Nice set of plays by New England’s younger players.

New England responds by moving the chains — first with a third-down catch by Pop Douglas, and then Lan Larison has his first NFL catch with an 11-yard pickup.

After one quarter of football — it’s a 0-0 game.

Drake Maye is 2-of-3 for 16 yards, but New England is leaning heavily on the run game — to very lackluster results. We’ll see if New England starts airing things out against this banged-up Seattle secondary.

Seattle is getting some solid gains on the ground with Price, but obviously Sam Darnold’s availability looms large.

Despite spending some time in the blue medical tent, Davis is back on the field for New England on this drive.

After Maye hits Mack Hollins for nine yards on a curl route, A.J. Brown has his first catch as a Patriot with a 7-yard pickup.

But on a 3rd-and-1 play, Stevenson is stopped at the line of scrimmage after a heavy hit from Demarcus Lawrence. New England is really struggling to run the ball so far tonight.

New England is punting again. The Patriots’ efforts to play bully-ball against this stout Seattle front seven isn’t work. We’ll see if Josh McDaniels adjusts.

Bad news for Seattle. Sam Darnold is heading to the locker room, and Drew Lock might be heading into the game.

According to Adam Schefter, Darnold is questionable to return with an ankle injury.

Lock and the Seahawks punt after five plays — we’ll see if New England can capitalize here.

Even with that short drive by Seattle, it looks like Patriots CB Carlton Davis was shaken up on that drive. He’s in the blue medical tent now.

A run-heavy approach by New England ultimately ends with a punt — as Seattle dials up the pressure with a blitz from Devon Witherspoon and Maye has to throw it away.

Not a lot of throws for Maye on that drive.

One thing worth following — Sam Darnold is in the blue medical talent. He was limping a bit while walking off the field after that Dre’Mont Jones sack.

Drake Maye is making an impact right away — picking up a first down with a 10-yard scramble up the middle and then moving the chains again after Seattle is whistled for hitting him while he’s well out of bounds on a 3rd-and-5 play.

Dre’Mont Jones makes his presence felt with a sack on third down. Nice play by the Patriots’ free-agent pickup.

Nice response by New England’s defense — which labored on run defense by allowing a few chunk yardage runs by Jadarian Price and George Holani.

No big surprise, but the Patriots are showered with boos in Seattle as they take to the field.

New England wins the coin toss and they defer. Sam Darnold and Co. are first up.

New Patriots free-agent pickup has replaced Stefon Diggs as the team’s voice during warmups. Byard is a proven veteran, who is also coming off of an All-Pro season with seven interceptions with the Bears.

The two highest-paid cornerbacks in the game in Christian Gonzalez and Devon Witherspoon meet up ahead of kick-off.

Inactives are out for New England and Seattle. No major surprises for the Patriots, especially with TreVeyon Henderson ruled out on Tuesday.

The Seahawks are dealing with a major loss, as safety Nick Emmanwori will miss the game. He’s a game-changer on defense — especially as a rover in Seattle’s secondary.

Seattle’s secondary is still anchored by Devon Witherspoon, but they lost a few stalwarts at DB this offseason — including Coby Bryant and Riq Woolen. One of A.J. Brown or Romeo Doubs should be able to capitalize against Seattle’s backups.

The Patriots have elevated running back Lan Larison and punter Mitch Wishnowsky from the practice squad to the game day roster for Wednesday. Both moves aren’t a surprise.

Adding Larison comes after the Patriots ruled out TreVeyon Henderson for Wednesday night due to an ankle injury. Wishnowsky’s elevation was also expected because Bryce Baringer is on injured reserve and is expected to miss at least four games.

One of the top keys to a win for New England? Keeping Drake Maye off the turf.

Seattle boasts a terrifying pass-rush — capable of getting after opposing QBs without necessarily needing to dial up blitzes. Maye was sacked six times in Super Bowl LX, and was routinely put under duress.

Maye needs more time to operate in the pocket on Wednesday, while the Patriots’ defense needs to stop Seattle’s ground game and get Sam Darnold to throw the ball early and often. It wasn’t the case in February, but Darnold is prone to turnovers.
